Greg Biffle wins Busch race

MADISON, Ill., July 20 (UPI) -- A fast pit stop with 32 laps to go Saturday night helped Greg Biffle win the NASCAR Busch Grand National series Charter Pipeline 250 at Gateway International Raceway.

Biffle's pit crew had him in and out the quickest on lap 168 while Ron Hornaday came out second. Biffle put his Ford Taurus in victory lane for the third time in the last seven Busch series races and lengthened his lead in the standings to 72 points over Jason Keller, who finished sixth.

Hornaday led 141 of 200 laps in a Chevrolet Monte Carlo and had the better car. The veteran driver recorded his fourth top-five finish this season and picked up 10 bonus points in the standings for leading the most laps.

Kevin Grubb was third in a Chevrolet as the top three ran in that order for much of the race.

Jack Sprague and Tony Raines gave Chevrolet four of the top five positions. Sprague is 165 points behind Biffle in the standings.
