ORLANDO, Fla., July 19 (UPI) -- Shannon Johnson scored 21 points and handed out 12 assists Friday night as the Orlando Miracle ended a four-game slide with a 84-73 triumph over the Utah Starzz.
Nykesha Sales, Wendy Palmer and Clarisse Machanguana each added 14 points for the Miracle, who shot 52 percent (31-of-60) from the field, including 63 percent (10-of-16) from the arc.
The game was tight throughout the first half, which ended with Orlando ahead, 44-38. After Natalie Williams' layup got Utah within 48-44 with 16:07 remaining, the Miracle began to pull away.
Johnson hit two free throws to give Orlando its first double-digit advantage at 58-48 with 11:46 left, and the Miracle extended their lead to 82-61 on a jumper by Adrienne Johnson with 4:12 to play.
Utah, which had a four-game winning streak snapped, was paced by Margo Dydek's 18 points.
