Charlotte 89, Orlando 62

CHARLOTTE, N.C., July 17 (UPI) -- Tammy Sutton-Brown scored 22 points Wednesday night as the Charlotte Sting coasted to their third straight victory, 89-62 over the Orlando Miracle.

Andrea Stinson and Allison Feaster each scored 13 points for the Sting, who matched their longest win streak of the season and have five wins in their last six games.

Wendy Palmer scored 15 points and Clarisse Machanguana and Shannon Johnson had 10 each for the Miracle, who have dropped four straight games.

Orlando had its only lead in the opening two minutes. A basket by Sutton-Brown with 18:42 left tied it at 5-5 and started a 15-4 run that ended with a 3-pointer by Charlotte Smith.

A 3-pointer by Orlando's Katie Douglas cut it to 18-12, but the Miracle got no closer. Charlotte led 45-31 at halftime and ended any chance of an Orlando comeback with a 9-3 spurt to start the second half. Charlotte's biggest lead was at final buzzer, which came after a 3-pointer by Erin Buecher with 18 seconds left.
