ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., July 14 (UPI) -- Ruben Sierra hit a solo home run in the eighth inning Sunday that lifted the Seattle Mariners to a 7-6 win over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
Sierra, who had three hits, homered off the first pitch from reliever Travis Phelps (0-1) as the Mariners clinched the season series with the Devil Rays, 5-4.

Mike Cameron had a long two-run single as the Mariners jumped to a 5-0 lead in the second.
But Chris Gomez's two-run double in the sixth helped the Devil Rays knot the contest, 6-6.
Rookie Mark Watson (1-0) recorded two outs and collected his first major league win.
