Arizona 4; Los Angeles 3

LOS ANGELES, July 12 (UPI) -- Quinton McCracken hammered a two-out, RBI double in the top of the eighth inning Thursday night to snap a tie and lead the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

With the score tied, 3-3, and a runner on second base, McCracken ripped a 1-2 offering from Los Angeles reliever Paul Quantrill to right-center for his second game-winning hit against the Dodgers in nine days. McCracken, who had just two hits in his previous 26 at-bats, had a two-run triple in the eighth inning against Los Angeles on July 3 to give Arizona a 5-3 win and hand Dodgers closer Eric Gagne just his second blown save of the season.

In four starts against Los Angeles this season, the lefthanded fireballer is 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA, allowing 13 earned runs in 26 innings.
