PHILADELPHIA, June 21 (UPI) -- Brandon Duckworth and two relievers combined on a four-hitter Friday night, carrying the Philadelphia Phillies to a 3-0 victory over the Minnesota Twins.
One of the Phillies' top prospects, Duckworth (4-4) limited the Twins to four singles over seven innings, walking none and striking out nine. The righthander left after throwing 100 pitches -- 65 for strikes.
The victory also continued Duckworth's success at home, where he improved to 3-1 with a 2.73 ERA in seven starts. The 26-year-old is 1-3 with a 6.38 ERA in six road outings.
Dan Plesac worked a perfect eighth and Jose Mesa struck out the side in the ninth for his 19th save.
Tomas Perez had an RBI single in the second for Philadelphia, which improved to 3-4 on a nine-game homestand.
Twins starter Kyle Lohse (6-5) surrendered three runs -- two earned -- and five hits in six innings. He walked two and struck out five.
