Philadelphia 4, Baltimore 3 (10 inn.)

PHILADELPHIA, June 15 (UPI) -- Scott Rolen homered in the seventh inning and drove in the winning run with a single in the bottom of the 10th Saturday night to lift the Philadelphia Phillies to a 4-3 victory over the Baltimore Orioles.

Buddy Groom (2-2) retired the first two batters in the 10th before Pat Burrell and Doug Glanville singled. Rolen, who was booed throughout the game, followed by going the opposite way to right field with a 2-2 pitch to bring home the winning run.

Earlier this week, some of Rolen's teammates were anonymously quoted in Philadelphia area newspapers as wanting the third baseman to be traded.

Rolen, who is scheduled to be a free agent after the season, did not help his cause with a lengthy slump. His homer in the seventh off Chris Brock snapped a one-for-24 slump.

The Orioles had tied the game in the eighth on a three-run homer by Jay Gibbons off reliever Dan Plesac. Brandon Duckworth had shut down the Orioles for seven innings before manager Larry Bowa lifted him after a walk to Brian Roberts and a single to Melvin Mora.

Plesac got Chris Singleton to ground into a force play before Gibbons hit his 11th homer of the season to right field.

Rheal Cormier (3-4) pitched a scoreless 10th for the win.

The Phils' Jeremy Giambi had a run-scoring double in the fourth to score Burrell, who walked. The Phils also scored in the first on a run-scoring groundout by Marlon Anderson.

Baltimore starter Scott Erickson allowed two runs -- one earned -- and three hits in six innings.
