Tigers put Higginson on DL

DETROIT, June 12 (UPI) -- The Detroit Tigers Wednesday placed outfielder Bobby Higginson on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to June 9, with a pulled left hamstring.

The 31-year-old Higginson suffered the injury in Saturday's game against Philadelphia while chasing a fly ball into a foul territory and was removed in the eighth inning.
