Baltimore 8, San Diego 6

BALTIMORE, June 10 (UPI) -- Melvin Mora's two-run homer with two outs in the eighth inning Monday night snapped a tie and lifted the Baltimore Orioles to an 8-6 interleague victory over the San Diego Padres.

Mora also had a three-run double in the second inning en route a a career-high five RBI. His blast off reliever Jeremy Fikac (3-5)-- his eighth of the season -- came three games after a two-homer performance against Los Angeles.

Buddy Groom (2-1), the fifth Orioles' pitcher, gave up one hit in 1 1/3 innings for the win. Closer Jorge Julio entered with one out in the ninth and Ryan Klesko at second. He struck out Ron Gant with a 100 MPH fastball and got Trenidad Hubbard to ground out to end the game for his 12th save in 16 chances.

Klesko hit his 13th homer and Bubba Trammell hit his seventh for the Padres, who left 13 runners on base.
