New York 70, Detroit 63

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., June 9 (UPI) -- Crystal Robinson scored 19 points and Becky Hammon added 17 Sunday night as the New York Liberty recorded a 70-63 victory over the winless Detroit Shock.

New York beat Detroit for the fifth straight time and has won five of six overall. New York trailed by 10 at halftime, but scored 24 of the first 36 points of the second half to take a 47-45 lead on Hammon's basket with 11:13 left. Robinson had six points in the burst.

The Shock pulled within 60-57 on a basket by Swin Cash with 3:50 to play, but the Liberty answered with 10 of the next 16 points. Hammon and Tari Phillips combined for eight of those points.

Phillips scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds.

Cash scored 14 points and Deanna Nolan added 13 for the Shock, who fell to 0-5 despite outrebounding New York, 40-20. Astou Ndiaye-Diatta pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds.

Cash scored six of her points in the first half as the Shock jumped out to a 30-16 lead with 2:47 left in the first half.
