Chicago White Sox 4, Kansas City 0

CHICAGO, June 3 (UPI) -- Jon Garland and five relievers combined on a six-hitter Tuesday night as the Chicago White Sox, ending a seven-game losing streak, blanked the Kansas City Royals, 4-0, in a game delayed for 54 minutes by rain.

Magglio Ordonez, Aaron Rowand and Paul Konerko had run-scoring doubles for Chicago, which snapped its longest losing skid since dropping eight straight last May.

Garland (6-4) gave up four hits in 6 2/3 innings to gain his second victory in his last six starts. The righthander walked four and struck out five.

Antonio Osuna got the final out in the seventh for Chicago before Damaso Marte, Bobby Howry and Kelly Wunsch escaped the eighth inning. Keith Foulke pitched a perfect ninth in a non-save situation.

Jeremy Affeldt (1-3) pitched well in defeat, allowing two runs and three hits in seven innings. He walked three and struck out six.
