Kansas City 10, Texas 7 (11 inn.)

ARLINGTON, Texas, June 1 (UPI) -- Carlos Beltran blasted a grand slam, then added a solo homer in the 11th inning Friday night as the Kansas City Royals outlasted the Texas Rangers, 10-7, for their fifth win in six games.

After Kansas City squandered a 7-5 lead in the bottom of the ninth, Beltran blasted the first of three consecutive homers in the 13th. Mike Sweeney and Joe Randa provided the others for the Royals.

Neifi Perez also went deep for Kansas City, which fell one home run shy of matching the single-game team record.

Alex Rodriguez posted his fourth two-homer game of the year for Texas, which has lost six of its last seven games.
