KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 26 (UPI) -- Carlos Beltran put Kansas City front for good with a two-run homer in the sixth inning Sunday and the Royals pounded out a season-best 18 hits to finish off a sweep of a doubleheader against the Texas Rangers, 9-8.
Kansas City rallied to win the first game, 7-5, and reliever Cory Bailey (2-4) was the winning pitcher in both contests.

The Rangers, who began their longest road trip of the season just one game under .500, went 2-9 on the journey through Detroit, Chicago, Minnesota and Kansas City.
Bailey became the first in Kansas City history to win both games of a doubleheader and the first in the majors to do so since David Wells 13 years ago while he was with the Toronto Blue Jays.
