PHOENIX, May 26 (UPI) -- David Dellucci drove in Steve Finley from second with a one-out double in the 10th inning Sunday, giving the Arizona Diamondbacks a 10-9 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
A pitcher's duel was anticipated with Kevin Brown starting for the Dodgers and Randy Johnson for the Diamondbacks, but Brown did not survive the first inning while giving up four runs. Brown suffered elbow pain and will be re-evaluated Monday.
Johnson gave up seven runs on eight hits over just five innings, but he did move into eighth place past Walter Johnson on the all-time strikeout list with 3,507.
Neither starter figured in the decision with Arizona reliever Byung-Hyun Kim (2-0) claiming the win. The loss went to Dennis Springer (0-1).
