Atlanta 11, Cincinnati 2

ATLANTA, May 24 (UPI) -- The Atlanta Braves spoiled the returns of Ken Griffey and Joey Hamilton in a big way Friday night as they pounded Hamilton, who was making his first start in almost three weeks, for a career-high nine runs in just 2 2/3 innings and cruised to an 11-2 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.

Kevin Millwood (3-5) benefited from a seven-run third to snap a career-high four-game losing streak. He surrendered two runs and eight hits over six innings with three walks and five strikeouts.

Seven different players had two hits for the Braves, who have won six of their last eight games.

Griffey returned to the Reds' lineup for the first time since the opening week of the season. He had been sidelined for nearly two months with a partially torn patellar tendon.

Hamilton (2-2) had been on the disabled list since May 8 with a torn hamstring.
