Raptor point guard has knee surgery

TORONTO, May 14 (UPI) -- Toronto Raptors point guard Alvin Williams has undergone arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, the team announced on Tuesday.

Williams was suffering from inflammation of the knee joint and will begin rehabilitation after a brief

recovery period.

Williams averaged a career-high 11.8 points and led Toronto with 5.7 assists per game last season. He was the lone Raptor to appear in every game, including the playoffs.
