MINNEAPOLIS, May 8 (UPI) -- Brad Radke threw a five-hitter and Tom Prince and Cristian Guzman had RBI doubles in the sixth inning Wednesday night as the Minnesota Twins split their two-game series against the Kansas City Royals with a 3-1 victory.
Radke (4-2), who gave up at least four runs in his previous four outings, did not allow a hit until there was one out in the fifth. The All-Star righthander struck out none and walked three.
The Twins bounced back from Tuesday's loss and improved to 16-3 at the Metrodome this season.
Making his second major league start, Kansas City rookie Jeremy Affeldt (1-1) yielded two runs -- one earned -- and two hits in four innings.
Neifi Perez had two hits for the Royals, who fell to 1-7 under interim manager John Mizerock.
