Barajas did not enter the game until the seventh inning, when starting catcher Damian Miller left the game with back spasms.

Finley led off the 10th with a base hit against Graeme Lloyd (0-2), who was relieved by righthander Matt Herges. Danny Bautista walked and Mark Grace flied to right, moving Finley to third.

The Expos pulled the infield in and Barajas hit a hard grounder to third baseman Fernando Tatis, who made a diving play to stop the ball but could not get Finley at the plate.

It was the second extra-inning win for the Diamondbacks in as many games this season.

Arizona reliever Eddie Oropesa (1-0) allowed no runs and struck out one in one inning, notching the victory.
