BALTIMORE, May 4 (UPI) -- BALTIMORE (Ticker) -- Rodrigo Lopez took charge as the
Baltimore Orioles once again crushed the Kansas City Royals.
Rodrigo Lopez threw seven scoreless innings and Melvin Mora and Marty Cordova each hit three-run homers Saturday as the Baltimore Orioles recorded their sixth straight win this season over the Kansas City Royals with a 10-0 rout.
In those victories, the Orioles have outscored the Royals, 52-14.
In his third start of the season, Lopez (4-0) retired 19 of the final 22 batters he faced. The righthander gave up just five hits, striking out one and walking one.
Tony Batista's solo shot -- his fifth home run against the Royals this season -- and Mora's two-out blast off Jeff Suppan (2-4) highlighted Baltimore's five-run third inning. Mora homered for the third time in seven games.
Cordova, who went 3-for-4 with a home run Friday, also victimized Suppan, going deep with one out in the third to push the lead to 8-0.
Mike Sweeney and Carlos Beltran each had two hits for the Royals, who lost their fifth straight game.
