N.Y. Mets 7; Arizona 1

PHOENIX, May 2 (UPI) -- Jeromy Burnitz hit a three-run homer in the first inning Wednesday night and Steve Trachsel and three relievers combined on a three-hitter as the New York Mets routed the Arizona Diamondbacks for the second straight night, 7-1.

Joe McEwing added two hits, a run scored and an RBI for the Mets, who have won six in a row.

Trachsel (2-3) went 6 2/3 innings, allowing a run, two singles and a double, but he struggled with his control, walking seven.

Mark Guthrie got the final out of the seventh before David Weathers and Satoru Komiyama tossed a perfect inning apiece.
