"I think it is a great fit for me," McGee said. "I got a chance to meet with Mr. (Jerry) Jones and get an understanding what he's trying to do here. It's an exciting place to be and I think everyone is ready to get to the winning ways."

McGee has experience with the system of offensive coordinator Bruce Coslet, his former coach in Cincinnati. He should jump to the top of the Cowboys' depth chart ahead of Mike Lucky, Jeff Robinson and James Whalen.

"Tony brings a wealth of experience to this offense," said Coslet. "Not only does he know this offense, but he will help other tight ends learn it. Obviously, this is a comfort zone for

us, but he wouldn't be here if he wasn't a good football player."

McGee spent played his first nine NFL seasons with the Bengals, totaling 299 catches for 3,795 yards and 20 touchdowns. He was seventh in franchise history in receptions and ninth in yardage.
