Montreal 5, Milwaukee 1

MONTREAL, April 25 (UPI) -- Tony Armas Jr. combined with three relievers on a four-hitter and Lee Stevens, Chris Truby and Jose Vidro homered Thursday night as the Montreal Expos had little difficulty extending their winning streak to six games with a 5-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Expos needed 15 innings to win Wednesday's game, 5-4. But in Thursday night's series finale, Armas (3-2) coasted through six innings, allowing a run and three hits, while striking out nine.

The Expos gave Armas a 3-1 lead to work with on home runs by Stevens and Truby and that was more than enough as the Brewers never threatened.

Armas left after throwing 99 pitches and did not appear happy with manager Frank Robinson's decision. Scott Stewart and Britt Reames, who did not pitch Wednesday, worked the seventh and Graeme Lloyd pitched two innings for his fourth save.

Milwaukee's Ruben Quevedo (1-2) allowed three runs and seven hits in six innings.
