Dallas 1, Los Angeles 1 (OT)

DALLAS, April 20 (UPI) -- The Los Angeles Galaxy became the lone unbeaten team in the MLS Saturday night, settling for a 1-1 tie with the Dallas Burn.

It was the second deadlock between the Western Conference rivals in a week.

The draw was the fifth in the last seven meetings between the clubs and the second straight determined by goals by forwards Carlos Ruiz of Los Angeles and Jason Kreis of Dallas.

While the Burn are unbeaten in the last seven games with the Galaxy (2

5), Los Angeles became the league's lone unbeaten team following Kansas City's overtime loss to D.C. United.

Ruiz continued his torrid goal-scoring pace with his league-leading sixth of the season in the 26th minute. A corner kick from the left side by midfielder Simon Elliott was flicked to the back goalpost by Alexi Lalas. Ruiz stepped inside defender Jorge Rodriguez and sent a deft right-footed volley into the net for a 1-0 lead.

The Guatemalan striker has scored all six of his team's goals this season.

Relentless pursuit by Kreis and miscommunication by the Galaxy defense inside the penalty area led to the equalizer in the 62nd minute. On the right side, Kreis muscled his way by Lalas, who was trying to shield the ball for charging goalkeeper Matt Reis.

Free of Lalas and with Reis drawn out of the net, Kreis fired a sharp-angle shot near the end line that glanced off the right post before rolling over the goal line.
