PHOENIX, April 20 (UPI) -- Todd Helton tripled twice and drove in four runs Friday night as the Colorado Rockies snapped a seven-game losing streak to the Arizona Diamondbacks with an 8-6 victory over the defending world champions.
Helton's bases-loaded triple gave Colorado a 7-3 lead in the seventh inning. He later scored his third run on a sacrifice fly by Todd Hollandsworth.
Helton extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a triple in the first, and is hitting .421 (16-for-38) over that span.
Greg Norton hit a two-run homer in the first inning and Juan Pierre collected three hits and scored twice for Colorado, which defeated Arizona for the first time since Sept. 19. The Rockies won for just the sixth time in their first 17 games.
After surrendering 11 runs and 18 hits over 11 2/3 innings in his previous two starts, Denny Neagle (2-1) allowed three runs and four hits over five innings. He yielded two runs, walked three and struck out four.
Neagle improved to 4-1 lifetime against Arizona.
Jose Jimenez, the fourth Colorado reliever, gave up one run and two hits in the ninth but picked up his fourth save.
Brian Anderson (0-2) took the loss after coming on in the sixth to relieve Todd Stottlemyre. He gave up one run on two walks and one hit.
Danny Bautista belted a two-run homer and Luis Gonzalez and Jose Guillen hit solo homers for Arizona, which has lost two in a row since a season-high six-game winning streak.
