ANAHEIM, Calif., April 4 (UPI) -- Luc Robitaille scored with 8:12 left in the second period as the Detroit Red Wings salvaged a 1-1 tie with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim Wednesday night.
Robitaille registered his fourth straight 30-goal season by taking a pass from Tomas Holmstrom in the right corner and banking the puck off the right pad of goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere.
Dominik Hasek made 29 saves, including four in overtime, for Detroit, which has earned points in seven straight games (3
3-1).
Giguere replaced Steve Shields midway through the second period after Shields collided with Holmstrom and sustained a facial laceration. Giguere made 17 saves.
Jeff Friesen scored his first power-play goal of the season 26 seconds into the second period for the Ducks, who are winless in the last three games (0-2-1).
