Sean Burke NHL player of the month

NEW YORK, April 1 (UPI) -- Phoenix Coyotes goaltender Sean Burke, who won nine of 10 starts, was named Monday as the NHL Player of the Month for March.

Burke was 9-1 with a 1.70 goals against average and a shutout as the Coyotes improved to 36-24-9-6 and closed to within two points of the San Jose Sharks for first place in the Pacific Division.

Burke opened the month with a four-game winning streak and also posted his career-best fifth shutout of the season in a 4-0 win over Los Angeles on March 24. A 14-year veteran, Burke is 30-18-6 with a 2.22 goals against average this season.
