TUCSON, March 28 (UPI) -- The Chicago White Sox placed lefthanded reliever Kelly Wunsch on the 15-day disabled list Thursday with inflammation in his rotator cuff and optioned lefthanded starter Jim Parque to Class AAA Charlotte of the International League.
Wunsch has struggled this spring, going 0-1 with a 10.86 ERA in six appearances, allowing five runs and seven hits over 3 1/3 innings. He appeared in 33 games out of the bullpen for the White Sox last season, posting a 2-1 record and 7.66 ERA.
Parque made only five starts for the White Sox in 2001 before his season was cut short due to a torn labrum in his left shoulder. He posted an 0-3 record with an 8.04 ERA and one complete game.
Parque made three starts for Chicago in Cactus League play, going 1-0 with a 5.40 ERA.
