FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., March 19 (UPI) -- Geronimo Gil hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning Tuesday as the Baltimore Orioles edged the Minnesota Twins, 3-2, in Grapefruit League play.

Two batters after third baseman Warren Morris' error, Gil hit his first homer of the spring off Travis Miller to give the Orioles a 3-1 lead. All three of Baltimore's runs were unearned.

Sean Runyan picked up the win in relief of Sidney Ponson, tossing a scoreless seventh inning. Ponson yielded an unearned run and three hits with a walk and no strikeouts.

Willis Roberts recorded his second save of the spring despite surrendering a run and three hits in the ninth.

Joe Mays started for the Twins and allowed an unearned run and three hits with no walks and five strikeouts in five innings.

Denny Hocking and Torii Hunter drove in Minnesota's runs.
