He opened the week with 23 saves in a 5-0 win over Nashville on Tuesday, tying a club record with his sixth shutout of the season.

Two days later, Cloutier turned aside 26 shots, including a penalty shot by Columbus forward Mike Sillinger, in a 5-1 victory over the Blue Jackets. Cloutier concluded his week Saturday when he made 14 saves in a 4-2 win over the Atlanta Thrashers.

In his fifth NHL season, the 25-year-old native of Quebec has a record of 23-20-4, a 2.50 goals-against average and .898 save percentage in 51 games.

Cloutier edged Canucks teammate center Brendan Morrison, Los Angeles Kings goaltender Felix Potvin, Columbus left wing Ray Whitney and Colorado Avalanche goaltender Patrick Roy to capture his first career NHL Player of the Week award.
