Allen McDill picked up the win in relief of Vicente Padilla, giving up two hits in 2/3 inning. Padilla, battling for the No. 5 starting spot, surrendered two runs and six hits while striking out seven without a walk in 5 2/3 frames.
Anthony Telford took the loss after yielding four runs and five hits in 1 2/3 innings. Doug Davis started for the Rangers and gave up two runs and three hits with a walk and six strikeouts in five innings.
