CHICAGO, March 15 (UPI) -- Terrell Taylor drilled a 3-pointer with less than a second left in the second overtime as No. 12 Creighton stunned the fifth-seeded Florida Gators with an 83-82 first-round NCAA Midwest Region victory Friday.
Florida (22-9) held an 82-80 lead with 29 seconds left but failed to inbound the ball and was whistled for a five-second call.
The Bluejays set up for a last shot and Gators guard Justin Hamilton nearly forced a turnover when he stripped Ismael Caro, but the ball went out of bounds with 4.5 seconds left to Creighton.
With star player Kyle Korver having fouled out, Creighton went right to Taylor. The Missouri Valley Conference's Sixth Man of the Year took a couple of dribbles and nailed his eighth 3-pointer of the game over Florida's Brett Nelson.
Taylor's 3-pointer with 35 seconds left in regulation capped a 10-2 run for a 69-69 tie to send the game into overtime.
Taylor finished with 28 points to lead Creighton, which will face Illinois or San Diego State in the second round.
