Kansas City 15, NY Mets 8

DAVENPORT, Fla., March 12 (UPI) -- Chuck Knoblauch, Angel Berroa and Mike Sweeney highlighted a 17-hit attack Tuesday as the Kansas City Royals rolled to a 15-8 victory over the New York Mets.

The Royals had just one hit in a March 5 loss to the Mets, but jumped on starter Jae Weong Seo for nine runs and 10 hits in the first three innings on Tuesday.

Knoblauch had three hits and four RBI, Berroa hit a three-run homer and drove in four runs and Sweeney went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles.

Kansas City starter Jeff Suppan pitched three innings and allowed six runs, but just one was run was earned.

Rey Ordonez went 3-for-3 and Jay Payton had a two-run double for the Mets in a six-run third inning.
