Texas 9, Philadelphia 5

CLEARWATER, Fla., March 10 (UPI) -- Kevin Mench had two homers and five RBI Sunday to power the Texas Rangers to a 9-5 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies.

Hank Blalock had four hits and two runs scored and Gabe Kapler drove in two runs for the Rangers, who had 14 hits off six pitchers.

Texas roughed up Randy Wolf, who gave up four runs, six hits and a walk in four innings.

Rangers starter Doug Davis gave up three runs and five hits in three innings but got the win. Francisco Cordero was effective, following with two scoreless innings.

Kevin Jordan drove in two runs and Pat Burrell and John Mabry each had two hits for the Phillies.
