NY Mets (ss) 12, Atlanta (ss) 3

KISSIMMEE, Fla., March 10 (UPI) -- Timo Perez and Roger Cedeno combined for six hits and six RBI Sunday as the New York Mets overwhelmed the Atlanta Braves in a battle of split squads, 12-3.

Perez went four for six with three RBI and Cedeno two for four with three RBI for the Mets, who scored five times in the third inning off starter Jason Marquis.

Jason Phillips and Mark Johnson combined for another five hits and six runs scored for New York.

Tyler Walker picked up the win in relief of Jeff D'Amico, giving up a run in two innings. D'Amico pitched a scoreless first.

Marquis suffered the loss after yielding five runs and five hits in three innings. Kerry Ligtenberg pitched the ninth and surrendered another four runs.
