Mid. Am.: Kent St. 70, Bowling Green 59

CLEVELAND, March 9 (UPI) -- Antonio Hudson scored 16 points as Kent State captured its second straight Mid-American Conference tournament title Saturday with a 70-59 victory over Bowling Green.

Kent State (27-6) recorded its 18th straight win despite losing coach Gary Waters to Rutgers.

Keith McLeod scored 20 points to lead Bowling Green, which had a fabulous regular season that included wins over Mississippi, Michigan and Ball State. The Falcons (24-8) still have an excellent shot at earning an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
