Pittsburgh 73, Seton Hall 66 (OT)

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Feb. 26 (UPI) -- With Julius Page nursing an injured wrist, Brandin Knight scored six of his 19 points in the final two minutes as eighth-ranked Pittsburgh captured the Big East Conference West Division with a 73-66 overtime victory over Seton Hall Tuesday night.

The Pirates opened the extra period with five straight points before Page, Pittsburgh's second-leading scorer, left the game after landing on his left wrist while going for a rebound.

But Pittsburgh (24-4, 12-3 Big East West) closed the game with 12 consecutive points led by Knight, the team's leader in scoring and assists.

After Panthers forward Donatas Zavackas made two free throws, Knight nailed an off-balance 3-pointer from the top of the circle to force a 66-66 tie with 1:46 remaining. He gave Pittsburgh the lead for good

with a spinning floater in the lane 54 seconds later.

Knight, who played his high school basketball at Seton Hall Prep, added a free throw with 48 seconds to go and the Panthers cruised to their sixth

straight win as the Pirates were unable to score in the final 4:15.

Pittsburgh completed February unbeaten for the first time since joining the Big East and won for the first time in four overtime contests this season.

Freshman John Allen scored 18 points and Andre Barrett added 17 for Seton Hall (12-16, 5-10), which jss lost five straight games and four in a row to Pittsburgh.
