PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- Simon Gagne and Ruslan Fedotenko scored 12

seconds apart in the final 65 seconds of the second period as the Philadelphia Flyers edged the Chicago Blackhawks, 5-4, Tuesday night.

Keith Primeau and Eric Desjardins also scored in the second period for the Flyers, who began a stretch of 25 games in 48 games in fine fashion. Olympian Jeremy Roenick had the other goal for the Flyers,

who survived a third-period rally by the Blackhawks.

Philadelphia moved one point ahead of Boston for the best record in the Eastern Conference.

Tony Amonte, Michael Nylander, Eric Daze and Tyler Arnason scored for the Blackhawks, who continue to struggle against the Flyers and on the road.

Chicago is 1-7-1 in its last nine games with Philadelphia and 12-15-5 on the road this season. It is 21-4-4 at home.
