Edmonton 4, Phoenix 3

PHOENIX, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Janne Niinimaa's goal with a 4:06 left Sunday night capped a four-goal third period for the Edmonton Oilers, who snapped an 11-game road winless streak with a 4-3 triumph over the Phoenix Coyotes.

Rem Murray won a faceoff against Claude Lemieux and left a drop pass for Niinimaa in the high slot. Niinimaa fired a hard slap shot through a screen for his fourth goal of the season.

Niinimaa's goal, which gave the Oilers their only lead of the game, came just 30 seconds after Mike Comrie's tying goal.

The Oilers trailed 2-0 after two periods, despite holding a 22-15 advantage in shots. But goals by Eric Brewer and Josh Green in the opening 3:11 of the final period got Edmonton back in the contest.

It was the first road win for the Oilers since a 3-2 victory over Philadelphia on December 16. Edmonton had gone 0-8-3 in that span with four of the losses coming by one goal.

Shane Doan, Ladislav Nagy and Mike Johnson scored for the Coyotes, who fell to 18-1-2-1 when leading after two periods.
