Calgary 4, Vancouver 3

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Feb. 10 (UPI) -- Jason Botterill, recalled from Saint John of the American Hockey League earlier in the day, scored the game-winning goal with 9:55 left in the third period Saturday night to lift the Calgary Flames to a 4-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks.

With Todd Bertuzzi in the penalty box for roughing, Calgary defenseman Toni Lydman passed the puck from the left point to the right, where defenseman Bob Boughner let loose a slap shot that was deflected out of the air by Botterill over goaltender Roman Turek.

It was only the second NHL goal for Botterill, whose other tally came on Jan. 4, 2000 while with the Atlanta Thrashers.

Markus Naslund notched his 27th goal and Bertuzzi tallied his 18th on the power play but Vancouver had its nine-game unbeaten streak (8

1) snapped with its first defeat since a 5-4 setback to St. Louis on Jan. 17.

The Canucks went 5

5 from March 5-25, 1977.

Jarome Iginla added to his league-leading goal total with his 33rd in the third period and Ronald Petrovicky and Marc Savard scored in the first for Calgary as the Flames rebounded from Friday's a 4-1 lose in Vancouver and posted their first win over the Canucks in four meetings this season.
