Host City -- This is the record ninth Super Bowl held in New Orleans and the sixth to be played in the Louisiana Superdome. Three Super Bowls were held at Tulane Stadium. The city previously hosted Super Bowl XXXI on Jan. 26, 1997, Super Bowl XXIV on Jan. 28, 1990, Super Bowl XX on January 26, 1986, Super Bowl XV on Jan. 25, 1981, Super Bowl XII on Jan. 15, 1978, Super Bowl IX on Jan. 12, 1975, Super Bowl VI on Jan. 16 1972, and Super Bowl IV on Jan. 11, 1970.

Home Team -- The New England Patriots will be the designated home team.
Award -- The winning team will be presented the Vince Lombardi Trophy, which carries a face value of $12,000.
Cost of Super Bowl rings -- League pays for up to 150 rings at $5,000 per ring. League also pays for 125 pieces of jewelry for the losing team, which may not cost more than one-half the price set for the Super Bowl ring.
Television and radio coverage -- Fox will be televising its third Super Bowl. CBS Radio will be broadcasting its 15th consecutive Super Bowl, 28th overall.
Television audience -- Last year's game was the fifth most watched program in television history. Super Bowl XXXV was watched by an estimated 131,200,000 viewers which ranks fourth among all Super Bowls.
Ticket distribution -- The New England Patriots and St. Louis Rams will each receive 17.5 percent of the tickets. The host New Orleans Saints will receive 5 percent. The other 28 active teams will total 33.6 percent with the Houston Texans receiving .6 percent. The NFL will control the remaining 25.8 percent.
