Mosley defends welterweight title

NEW YORK, Jan. 25 (UPI) -- Undefeated Shane Mosley defends his WBC welterweight title against the also unbeaten Vernon Forrest at Madison Square Garden Saturday night.

Mosley is 38-0 with 35 knockouts. He won the title by beating Oscar de la Hoya in June 2000 but has not met a fighter of note since. He scored a third-round knockout of Adrian Stone last July.

Forrest promises to be more to handle. He has won all 33 fights with 26 KOs. Forrest beat Mosley when both were amateurs, in the 1992 Olympic trials.
