COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 21 (UPI) -- Benoit Brunet and Pierre Turgeon ended prolonged scoring droughts and Marty Turco stopped 28 shots Monday night to lead the Dallas Stars to a 5-3 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Brunet collected his first point in 17 games to break a 1-1 tie 4:14 into the contest, then set up Turgeon's first goal in 21 games with 2:10 left in the first period to give Dallas a 3-2 lead.
Brett Harkins lifted Columbus into a 3-3 tie with a power-play goal 8:32 into the second period, but Brenden Morrow put the Stars ahead for good with 14:52 left in the third.
Turgeon also had a pair of assists to help Dallas remain three points behind first-place San Jose in the Pacific Division.
Marc Denis made 29 saves for the Blue Jackets, who have lost three straight following a three-game unbeaten streak.
