LUBBOCK, Texas, Jan. 19 (UPI) -- Facing their first two-game losing streak under Coach Bob Knight, the Texas Tech Red Raiders responded Saturday by routing sixth-ranked Oklahoma State, 94-70, for their most impressive win of the season.
Led by Andre Emmett, who scored a season-high 32 points on 14-of-18 shooting, Texas Tech (14-3, 3-2 Big 12) snapped a nine-game losing streak against Oklahoma State. Andy Ellis added 26 points while hitting 11 of 15 shots.
The Red Raiders shot 61 percent from the field (39-of-63). Nick Valdez handed out 11 assists with no turnovers.
Knight improved to 3-2 in five career meetings with Cowboys coach Eddie Sutton and faced Oklahoma State for the first time.
For nearly 30 minutes, it appeared the contest would be decided in the final seconds. But the Red Raiders blew out the Cowboys with a 41-18 explosion over the final 10 minutes.
Melvin Sanders scored 16 points and Maurice Baker added 14 for Oklahoma State, which has suffered consecutive defeats for the first time this season.
