CINCINNATI, Jan. 16 (UPI) -- Leonard Stokes scored 24 of his career-high 36 points after halftime Wednesday night and Steve Logan had 15 of his 21 in the first 20 minutes as No. 8 Cincinnati extended the nation's longest winning streak to 16 games with an 89-72 Conference USA victory over DePaul.
Cincinnati (16-1, 4-0 C-USA) has not lost since a season-opening defeat at Oklahoma State on Nov. 16. The Bearcats have won 21 of the last 22 meetings with the Blue Demons.
Stokes triggered an 8-0 run with a basket as Cincinnati opened up a 43-21 lead with 1:45 left befor halftime. Jamaal Davis score the final four points of the spurt and the Bearcats took a 45-26 lead into the locker room.
DePaul (7-8, 0-4) got within 65-49 with 12 minutes left, but came no closer. Stokes made a three-pointer while being fouled and added the free throw for a rare four-point play and a 71-49 advantage with 10:35 left.
Andre Brown scored 21 points to lead the Blue Demons, who have lost four straight on the heels of a four-game winning streak.
