Columbus 2, NY Rangers 2 (OT)

NEW YORK, Jan. 14 (UPI) -- Tyler Wright scored a power-play goal with 69 seconds left in regulation Monday night as the Columbus Blue Jackets rallied from a two-goal deficit to earn a 2-2 tie with the New York Rangers.

With Eric Lindros in the penalty box for slashing and goaltender Marc Denis off the ice for an extra skater, Wright batted home the rebound of a shot by Mike Sillinger for his eighth goal of the season.

Theo Fleury and Andreas Johannson scored for the Rangers, who snapped a six-game losing streak but saw their winless streak extended to seven games (0-5

2).

To make matters worse for the Rangers, Johannson suffered a broken left wrist after a collision with Wright with five minutes left. The injury will not require surgery but Johannson said he expects to be sidelined three-to-four weeks.

Denis stopped 28 shots and turned the tide of the game when he stopped Manny Malhotra on a second-period penalty shot to keep the score 2-0.

Malhotra was taken down by Ray Whitney 3:07 into the period and was awarded a shot. But Denis stopped Malhotra's wrist shot with his blocker.

The Blue Jackets responded 37 seconds later when Whitney one-timed a pass from Deron Quint past Mike Richter for a power-play goal that made it 2-1.

Fleury broke a long drought at 9:03 of the first period, scoring on a backhand deflection off a shot by Bryan Berard.

It was the 16th goal for Fleury but first since December 23 against Ottawa -- a span of nine games. It was also his first point in six games.

Johannson made it 2-0 when he deflected a slap shot from Brian Leetch from just inside the blue line at 2:14 of the second for a power-play goal. Johannson had been pushed into Denis moments earlier before leaving the crease and Denis argued for an interference penalty to no avail.

Denis caught a break midway through the second period when Vladimir Malakhov hit the left post with a slap shot.

Columbus had a two-man advantage for 43 seconds of the second period, but David Vyborny fanned in front of an open net, keeping the deficit at one goal.

Richter made 40 saves for the Rangers.
