Toronto 4, Nashville 3

TORONTO, Jan. 8 (UPI) -- Mats Sundin scored twice less than five minutes apart in the third period Tuesday night as the Toronto Maple Leafs rallied for a 4-3 victory over the Nashville Predators.

The Eastern Conference-leading Maple Leafs were lackluster for the first two periods and trailed, 3-2, entering the final 20 minutes before Sundin helped rescue them.

Defenseman Dmitry Yushkevich and enforcer Tie Domi also scored for the Leafs, who had been 0-2-1 all-time against Nashville.

Corey Schwab, making just his second home start of the season, stopped 22 shots for Toronto.

Martin Erat and Greg Classen scored first-period goals for the Predators, who suffered their third straight loss.
