American Bode Miller, who has emerged as a major medal threat for the upcoming Olympics, finished second in 2:07.88 and Didier Cuche of Switzerland was third in 2:08.70.

Miller turned in a nearly perfect second run, but it was still not enough to catch Raich.

Fredrik Nybert of Sweden, who won a giant slalom over the same course Thursday, finished fourth while France's Joel Chenal was fifth. World Cup giant slalom leader Frederic Covili of France finished 11th.
