BOSTON, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- Byron Dafoe made 23 saves and Andy Hilbert scored in his first NHL game Thursday night as the Boston Bruins snapped a three-game losing streak with a 5-0 triumph over the Montreal Canadiens.

Dafoe stopped nine shots in the first period and seven apiece in each of the final two periods. He has three shutouts this season and 25 in his career.

Hilbert, who was recalled from Providence of the American Hockey League prior to the game, scored 5:47 into the contest. Rob Zamuner added his second and third goals of the season and Brian Rolston had a power-play goal and an assist.
