Royals obtain Tucker from Cubs

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Dec. 19 (UPI) -- The Kansas City Royals Wednesday acquired outfielder Michael Tucker from the Chicago Cubs for a player to be named.

Tucker, 30 was traded from the Cincinnati Reds to Chicago on July 20 for two minor leaguers. He hit a combined .252 with 12 homers and 61 RBI in 149 games last season. In 63 games for Chicago, Tucker hit .263 with five homers and 31 RBI.

It was the second acquisition in as many days for the Royals, who signed free agent infielder-outfielder Chuck Knoblauch on Tuesday.
