Edmonton 3, Philadelphia 2

PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- Marty Reasoner recorded the eventual game-winner 3:54 into the third period after Mike Comrie scored twice in the first Sunday night as the Edmonton Oilers won their ninth road game this season, a 3-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Shawn Horcoff and Tom Poti collected two assists apiece as the Oilers opened their four-game road trip by increasing their NHL-leading road point total to 24 (9-4-4-2).

Ruslan Fedotenko scored his sixth goal with 7:21 left to cut the Flyers' deficit to 3-2. But Philadephia failed to convert on a power play in the final 1:21 and lost to Edmonton after sweeping the Western Conference foe last season.

Despite their success away from Skyreach Centre this season, the Oilers won for just the eighth time in 30 all-time road meetings with the Flyers.
